She sat at the curb rocking, missing the touch, tastes, smells of earth she left behind.
Night held her in its cradle, safe from the eyes of the world; she cried.
Relieved from words to the people that loved her, no chance to confess mistakes she made.
Deep in the night, the dark as a shield, she waited; then watched as they carried her body away.
Late last night a young girl fell asleep at the wheel........
