time is in question
underneath the limelight
making its debut
unveiling truth through destruction
love is the reason
night is dancing circles ‘round my head
weaving laurels out of thoughts
making emotions into decorative knots
like a dalliance of felines
a battle of two opposites,
destructive, enveloping, invading,
culminating
devouring the spirit so deliciously
so painfully
tearing apart and coming together
centrifugally
flamboyantly, rebelling against the silence
screaming out like life depended on it
for mercy or for pleasure
like the difference was a nuance apart
and even if
love was decaying
doing its farewell waltz
hoping to strike inspiration
it is still the musician...
scoring the notes
buffeting the heart like a drum
making time a luxury
wasting it away with palpitating seductions
serenading it into ignorant bliss
and the mere thought of it remains,
irrevocably.
